Collaboration with Universities and Academic Societies

To provide appropriate medical care informed by the latest knowledge from Japan and abroad, our clinic has built a collaborative care system with Osaka University Hospital, Kobe University Hospital, academic societies and research groups, general hospitals including Meiwa Hospital, regional medical institutions, and clinics throughout the Kansai area.

Our clinic works closely with the Japanese Society of Interventional Radiology (IVR) as well as university hospitals and research institutions nationwide, including Osaka University, and actively participates in and leads multicenter clinical trials. Building on these networks, we rapidly translate the latest high-quality evidence into clinical practice, and actively provide highly precise IVR treatment even for advanced and recurrent cancers considered difficult to treat with conventional therapies.
A major advantage of IVR treatment is that it can be completed on an outpatient basis or with a short hospital stay, combining minimal invasiveness with the flexibility of repeated procedures. This allows continuous and strategic tumor control while keeping the burden on patients to a minimum.
As a core player in interventional oncology, we continue to drive further improvements in the standard of medical care and to offer optimal treatment strategies tailored to each patient's condition.

In clinical settings across Japan, image-guided puncture and percutaneous drainage procedures for removing accumulated fluid or air from the body are among the basic techniques performed routinely across many medical specialties.
However, their success and safety depend largely on the experience and proficiency of the operator, and disparities in technical skill between institutions and between operators remain an issue that cannot be overlooked.
To address these disparities, our clinic is actively working to standardize percutaneous drainage techniques and improve their quality.
Our clinic serves as the secretariat of the Japan Puncture and Drainage Study Group, and by building an extensive network of physicians across many fields, including surgery, internal medicine, and anesthesiology, we promote the consolidation and systematization of knowledge and its return to everyday clinical practice.
As a core hub serving a center function in this field, we will continue to drive improvements in the quality of care through both evidence and technique, and to contribute to the wider adoption of safer, more reproducible puncture and drainage procedures.
